The best part of owning a Curves Kenilworth Franchise is sharing in the wonderful benefits that our members experience.

Running your own business is challenging of course but the sense of worth and fulfilment that comes from helping women take control of their health and well-being is amazing and something I am passionate about. That passion is also evident throughout the organisation.

I have regular contact with my Business Development Manager who always gives invaluable support, advice and encouragement and the team at our European headquarters are quick to respond to technical issues. There is also a huge library of online resources and training.

Curves KenilworthI joined Curves Kenilworth as a Circuit Coach 10 years ago and bought the franchise in 2015. I have seen several changes in the organisation during that time and believe that now is a great time to be a Curves franchisee.

Leaving university with a degree in organisation and management, I had always dreamed of running my own business but had no finances with which to do so.

I became a police officer straight from university and went into teaching following the birth of my first son, James. In 2017 after three children, 21 years of employment and 9 years as a headteacher, I suffered a period of ill health and realised that I wanted to fulfil my dreams of running my own business and, if at all possible, to involve my children in the process as a learning tool and future investment for them.

I undertook a lot of research and felt that the one common interest myself and my family had was animals. We were interested in their welfare and this was also something I knew a little about, having studied equine studies at college and having a dog trained under the dogs helping kids charity.

I had spoken to a number of people and sat in on some local business networking events, all of which agreed that a franchise opportunity was a good idea as it gave you the full package to support start-ups and although there was a monthly fee in most instances, it was worth it to have the support of the franchise team. On looking further into the franchise industry and the pet world, Husse stood out as a growing company, with a good successful track record and on talking to them it was very clear that the HQ team were very knowledgeable and above all honest about what it would take to be successful. There was no hidden messages or promises of things that could only be achieved in one or two cases.

Before committing further, I undertook local research about the competitors locally and the possibility of local markets and shows which would be open to Husse products. I also switched my own animals to the brand, as I had never been a salesperson and so felt it hugely important for me to be able to believe in the brand and speak highly about it (Teasel and Felix love it by the way!) I looked at online reviews from customers and reviews from reputable franchise websites – Husse stood out due to the high quality of natural ingredients (far superior to mass produced dog food), pet food matched to pets requirements, the cost per daily feed and proven system, global brand.

6 months after initial enquiries I bought the franchise and began training and trading with my son James. The training with Majid was amazing and Costas offered great support throughout the whole process. Both are very open and honest.

As with any start-up it is going to be hard work, but it is a product you can believe in, be passionate about and over time succeed with.

Curves North East Franchise Success Story

Hi I am Sarah….

I have been with Curves just over 18 years, I started off as a member of staff & quickly promoted to manager role …. within just months I managed one of the best Curves in the UK and was asked if I would mentor for Curves International which was a no brainer!!!!

So let’s take it back a few years – my dad was a bodybuilder and I was massively into fitness following his footsteps – I trained In a “men’s” gym with weights but never saw many women there & if there was any ladies they were always hiding over on the cardio equipment.

When I first was introduced to Curves I fell in love with it … this was a chance to show my passion for fitness to women who could actually do strength training and cardio at the same time without having to hide around the corner on the same old boring treadmill!!!

Related: Curves Kenilworth – Franchise Success Story – Curves Fitness Franchise

This meant that women could exercise and gain muscle (tone up) without having to be lost in a gym with free weights & machines and not knowing what they were actually doing.

Curves North EastI had worked for a few months in a “normal ladies gym” but to be fair I only helped members when I was asked and I did their initial programme. But at CURVES its not like that ….. We know all our members names, what their goals are, when they go on holidays, we are their circuit coach as well as a councilor to our members (we are one big family)

I can’t express how much I love my job!!! I have 2 beautiful children & through Curves got straight back into shape, I have 3 Curves North East locations and I’m still working even when I am not in the club – doing monthly challenges – creating journals – thinking of new ideas to motivate members etc etc.

I have so many ladies contacting me on my @buffmammy Instagram page because they love the energy, the results and I’m a real person running 3 Curves North East locations with 2 children and still find 30 minutes to workout …. to know that I am influencing women on a daily basis through doing a job I love is just amazing and I couldn’t have done it without curves.

I couldn’t imagine not having Curves in my life or how boring life would be without Curves

Curves Irvine – Franchise Success Story – Curves Fitness Franchise

July 1, 2018

We opened Curves Irvine on the 1st of February 2016.

Our current membership is 605 & that has been the highest membership we have ever achieved in the 27 months we have been open.

Opening day we signed up 100 new members in the first day and at the end of week one we had 200 new members.

By August 2016 we had reached 500 members.

I have worked for Curves since I was 19 (now 31) firstly starting off as a circuit coach, progressing to manager of one club & then area manager for 3 locations. During that time I completely fell in love with everything that Curves embodies, I have a true passion for helping women to achieve their fullest potential.

After 10 years working for another owner i decided that I was ready to take on my own club & I have never looked back.

curves irvineMy husband and I found a location in our own community in November 2015 & with a lot of support from Curves on the sale of the Territory we were able to open just 3 short months later.

As I mentioned above I have always had a passion for helping women but when you get to do this in your own community with women you know the level of job satisfaction is increased ten fold!

I believe that Curves is way more than just a gym, we are a community of support for our members, no two days are the same & you are able to push yourself and members to new levels each and every day.

Most days I don’t even feel like I’m at work, that doesn’t mean I don’t work hard though, it simply means I love what I do. For this kind of job you really must love what you do for it to be a success. You’ve got to live and breath it every second & with any business you have to but in the hours, develop yourself and your team & make sure you provide a service no where else can.

Curves Ireland – Franchise Success Story – Curves Fitness Franchise

June 24, 2018

My name is Fionn, my wife’s name is Roisin. We own and operate 3 Curves Ireland clubs. It all began when my wife joined as a member back in 2009.

She loved it from day one, the concept, the workout, the energetic and supportive staff- it all resonated with her. In fact it resonated so much that Roisin was soon working with the owner of our local club.

In 2012 that lady decided to retire and we jumped at the opportunity of owning the club ourselves. Even though the country was deep in recession we were confident that the club and the concept would prevail and prevail they did. With a bit of hard work alongside the support and training we received from the Curves team our little club flourished.

Curves IrelandIn 2015 we began to look for a suitable location for our second club and duly opened our Kilkenny branch. Even though we had never actually opened a club before from scratch we felt sure that with Curves Ireland behind us and using their template for club openings things would be fine.

Within a short time we had trained staff and a membership that meant we could go again. In 2017 we took on the challenge of our Galway club. Things were easier and less daunting the second time around again a lot of support came our way which made success
that much more certain.

Neither one of us worked in the exercise realm before (I used to be a teacher and my wife was a company trainer) so this was a leap for us both but one that we both feel really happy and lucky to have had the chance to take.

“Blessed” – Our Curves Journey

May 25, 2018

Jane’s Curves Journey started in Feb 2008 – “I was the heaviest I had ever been although physically very fit with a kennel full of 7 labradors which I worked on the hills around

for 6 months of the year. I suffered with a bad back and needed to find exercise to tone the muscles on my spine, after some research I discovered Curves in Inverness. The concept of 30 minutes three times a week appealed to me, but I very quickly became a Curveaholic and found I felt so much better after a workout and was soon attending 5 times a week! I loved it so much, little did I know Curves would become my passion.”

Curves InvernessAudrey’s Curves Journey began in Jan 2009 – “I had been made redundant in October 2008 and in January, was gifted a month’s membership of Curves by my sister Kareen, who was a member in Elgin.  Having been a regular gym attendee for years, I was intrigued as to how effective the 30 minute would be.  I became hooked in the first week – the full body workout, time, fun and camaraderie in the circuit was a real confidence booster for me.  My strength and stamina have majorly improved.”

Early in 2009 Nancy (the then owner) was looking for part-time staff and we both joined her Curves Team.  We did our training together and it was the start of an amazing journey – we shared the same passion for Curves and it was like meeting a new sister, best friend soul mate and left arm combined! The rest you could say is history as we were fortunate in July 2010 to purchase Curves Inverness.   We have a fabulous team in Inverness, who also share the same passion and core values in Strengthening Women.  We have been fortunate to meet and work with so many amazing ladies, past and present members, to help them to reach their health and fitness goals and we feel truly very privileged and blessed.

Franchisee Feedback

September 28, 2017

Here, some of our franchisees discuss their positive experiences with the Husse brand!

Husse UK Franchise

Leslie and Phillipa

We have looked in to several franchises and none got back to be as promptly as Husse. After our first discussion with Husse everything else fell in to place. Professionalism in handling the numerous queries and organising our first meeting with Fahim and Dr Majid was brilliant. I ordered food to trial on my (very difficult) dog and the result was unbelievable.

We then trialled it on a relative’s dog and that too had unbelievable results on digestibility. The product does what it says. Now I can honestly say my dog did so well on the food, I made the decision to invest in Husse just after this.

Husse UK Franchise

Phillipa and I both hope to carry on having and developing the relationship we have with the team at Husse.

My dog Max made me join Husse! He is my first dog and, as you do with your children, I always wanted to do the best for him. As he grew from a puppy to an adult dog, I was concerned whether I was feeding him correctly and when he had some skin complaints and I was overwhelmed with a lot of advice from people about what to feed him that got so confusing! I couldn’t look at a dog food and know whether it was the right one for him or not. It was very expensive trial and error!

Being part of Husse now means that I can help people to clearly understand what super healthy pet foods really are, and how they will benefit their beloved pets throughout their lifecycle.

I’m really looking forward to meeting customers in my area, learning about their pets and becoming someone who can be trusted and relied upon to offer fantastic products and helpful advice and support.

I have been part of Husse for two years now and really enjoy it a lot.when I started I still had a job and a young daughter who took a lot of my time. I feel I could have been a lot more successful if I had more time.

Saying that I am very excited about the coming months. my daughter has now started school and I am about to change my job to part time which means that Husse will now be my main concern and will be getting a lot more of my time. I believe I have been heading in the right direction and approach to the people in my area. I have built a good reputation over the last two years and it is really now time to push harder.

I also wanted to say a thank you to you all at Head Office. When I started there was a lot of things that needed improving and I think you guys have done a good job in getting everything to where we are now.

Husse UK Franchise

I’ve always been involved in Sales and Customer Service, as I love meeting people….two days are never the same! For me it’s about listening to what it is my customer wants, guiding them through the choices available, so they end up making the right decision for them. At the end of the day it’s about providing excellent customer service.

Why Husse

I’ve just recently made the decision to leave my current job due to stress and with the passing of my father, it’s made me think about what’s important to me. I want to be able to enjoy what I do for a living, make a difference to my family and my island community. I love, love animals and so to find a franchise like Husse, well, I’d be silly not to go for it! The fact that they have been established for 30 years, that they are a well respected Swedish brand and they use only natural products, totally made sense to me as a proud pet owner. Also the fact that Husse are part of a global trend and that is online shopping, it’s the perfect time to get set up with what is a great company and product.

My experience so far with Husse

So helpful, friendly and professional! From when we got in touch with Husse, everyone has really helped us get set up. The training was a jam packed two days, but was done in a relaxed and friendly manner. We were very much looked after and I felt like I had made some great new friends to help me on my new journey!

What I’m looking forward to

I just can’t wait to get out there to meet my soon to be customers…that’s the four legged kind! I’m feeling very confident that the Husse brand will be very well received here in Jersey, not only by my customers, but the fact their owners struggle to find time to go to the shops these days. To be able to provide free nutrition advise, no need to remember to reorder, due to Husse’s fantastic CRM diary system and the offer of free home delivery, why wouldn’t they order Husse?

Franchisee owners Tom and Jo over the moon with Husse UK!

Husse UK Franchise

Tony and I had spent a considerable amount of time looking for a suitable franchise for me, I have been wanting to take the leap away from being employed for a while now.

When we discovered pet food franchises I was over the moon, I love dogs and animals in general and decided it was the way forward for me. Then it was about which one, after a very short time it was obvious which was the company to choose, the support and responsiveness from the Husse team was second to none, my questions were answered within hours and at no time was I made to feel a nuisance by asking so many questions.

Since signing the deal nothing has changed, I’m still getting all the help and support I was promised from the start.

Exclusive Interview with Ayrshire Franchisees for Husse Pet Food

September 28, 2017

Our Ayrshire franchisees discuss their thoughts on partnering with the Husse brand!

Name: David Stewart & Lindsey M S Chambers
Location: Ayrshire, South West Scotland
Franchise: Husse Pet Food
Date of Franchise Launch: 1st June 2016

Tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing prior to buying your Husse franchise business?

Although I had previously worked for many years in a sales environment, for the past 15 years I had been driving a hackney with 85% of my business being transporting disabled children and children with severe learning difficulties. This I have continued doing up until May of this year.Lindsey was and is still working for the NHS running the Education Centre within University Hospital Ayr. We both like being outdoors and felt this type of business could appeal to us especially with our love of animals.

Related: Pet Franchises in the UK – Turn Your Passion into a Business

Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose the Husse franchise?

We chose the franchise route as this gave us the support network required to launch a successful business.

We spent over a year looking at numerous franchises but none of them seemed to tick the boxes that would motivate us to put in the effort to become successful and to establish a long-term future. Husse, with 30 years’ experience, came across as a company with a very good track record, a very good product and an ethos of care for the customer that we felt we would like to be part of.

How did you raise the finance?

Initially we borrowed the capital to purchase the franchise while awaiting the sale of a flat.

What training and support did you receive initially and ongoing?

There was a two-day intensive course to give us the basic product knowledge required and the useful information on how to source all the relevant information tailored to each customer’s needs and requirements. We were also invited to various dog shows and galas to learn how to run these events. The master franchiser also attended our shows to offer continued support and to help us build our customer base. The company has an online vet and an online nutritionist for free advice and we have our own company Facebook page for sharing issues that we may encounter. Our Head Office is always only a phone call or email away.

Related: Pet Franchises – Search Franchise Reviews Directory

What is a typical day for you as a Husse franchisee?

A typical day is to go out to various parks, beaches and country walks to hand out flyers and free samples. It also includes delivering the food to our customers that we have been scheduling from the previous week. We also on a daily basis contact the customers who will require food the following week. This is interspersed with free visits to our customer’s house to weigh and monitor the wellbeing of their cats and dogs.

What challenges have you faced?

Our biggest challenge is probably educating a small percentage of the owners to feeding their pets healthily.

Has becoming a franchisee changed your life, if so how?

Yes, it has definitely changed our lifestyle as in the first year we have been working in our own jobs and expanding a business. This has taken a lot of commitment and energy but we can see the future potential and are quite excited about this.

What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to buy their first franchise?

As there are no get rich quick schemes make sure any investment that you are making is something that you wish to commit to long term and that the business you are looking at has a track record to support both the product and the person investing in this company.

Related: Husse Franchise

In your opinion, what makes a successful franchisee?

Two ears and one mouth. Anybody with the drive to succeed can become a successful franchisee if they are willing to listen to the people who have already created a successful network by following a company structure, asking for help when it is required and putting in the hours necessary to build your franchise.

What are your plans for the future?

Our short-term plans are to build an income to replace both our wages leaving us available to run the business on a full time basis. So far we are on the brink of replacing one of our wages and hopefully by September both of them. Our longer-term plans are to be in a position to semi retire and allow our children, if they wish to, take over the franchise as we have chosen a franchise that will always have a continuous customer base.

Would you do it again?
