Flying from Edinburgh Airport later this year? You’ll have a new fast food option – Burger King to fill up on before your board, and digital self-service kiosks mean you’ll have plenty of time to get a burger in before take-off.
Burger King is due to open its doors in the departures hall of Edinburgh Airport in the coming months.
As well as the usual Whoppers, fries and drinks, it will have a children’s interactive wall to keep youngsters entertained as families wait for their flights. It will be the first UK branch to have an area like this.
Passengers will be able to order on digital screens at special kiosks.
Gail Taylor, director of retail at Edinburgh Airport said: “One of the brands passengers have continuously mentioned they want to see at Edinburgh Airport is Burger King so we’ve listened and are delighted to deliver that for them.
“Quality and variety are key considerations for us when we look at our food and beverage options and we’re always looking to offer greater choice, something which our new terminal expansion will allow us to do and we look forward to confirming more new outlets soon.”
Simon Smith, CEO of franchise owners SSP UK & Ireland, said: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of our first Burger King unit at Edinburgh Airport, which will offer greater choice and service to both local and international travellers.
“This is our 30th Burger King restaurant to launch in the UK, and reflects our ongoing commitment to the brand and to providing our customers with the best offers from the most renowned names in food and beverage.”
