Since setting up the business in 2017, the ChipsAway team have completed more than 3,000 jobs.
Husband and wife team Cas and Phil Clifford-Wareham have topped off a successful year in business with two prestigious award wins.
The couple, who invested £250,000 savings into setting up ChipsAway Stoke-on-Trent in 2017, were named ‘Car Care Centre of the Year’ and ‘Marketeer of the Year’ at the ChipsAway annual conference in December.
The awards mark the end of a couple of busy years for the pair who turned their mobile repair service into a car care centre based at Trentham Lakes – and have gone on to become the most successful franchise in ChipsAway history.
Cas said: “It’s a huge honour and privilege to be awarded Car Care Centre of the Year. We are incredibly proud of our team who work tirelessly to achieve high standards in everything we do and share this fabulous award with each and every one of them.”
Since setting up the business, Cas, Phil and their five-strong team have completed more than 3,000 jobs and have well and truly cemented themselves into their community with a pledge to support to Newcastle’s Alice Charity.
They also regularly invite students and apprentices into the business to learn about the trade and encourage others – especially women – to consider it as a career.
Cas said: “From a husband and wife team at the start of year one, to a team of seven at the end of year two, we are proud of our growth and have expansion plans for 2020 which will see a further four members of staff join the team.
“We have invested in the latest technology and are constantly learning new ways we can improve our processes and repairs. We are using products that reduce our carbon footprint and emissions and we will continue to work in this way through this year.”
ChipsAway specialises in automotive repairs – such as body repairs, dent removal and diamond cut alloys.
Over the next 12 months, the couple has pledged to invest around £250,000 into diamond cut refurbishment and recruit four new members of staff.
Cas added: “Our goal over the next few years is to keep growing the business and putting back into the economy, creating more jobs and opportunities for local people. We will continue to provide a service that keeps our customers come back time and time again.”
ChipsAway Stoke-on-Trent has now entered The Sentinel Business Awards in the Small Business of the Year category, sponsored by Beswicks Legal.

Tim Harris, managing director of ChipsAway, said: “Phil and Cas’s hard work and dedication over the past three years has meant their business has flourished into an extremely successful car care centre.
“Phil and Cas have also maintained an exceptional level of customer service and this is why they are such worthy double-award winners and have a great reputation among the head office team, fellow network members and customers alike.”
