REDDITCH’S ladies-only gym Gymophobics has been nominated for hat-trick of national awards.
The Albert Street gym scooped nominations for Team of the Year, Gym of the Year South Midlands, as well as a nomination for Slimmer of the Year for their member Sam Barrass, who has lost more than four stone.
The awards, to be held in Nottingham in January 2020, are now in their 13th year and recognise excellence and achievement for centres in the Gymophobics franchise – which is the largest ladies-only gym group in the UK with over 50 centres.
Sue Aravanis, manager of Gymophobics Redditch, said: “This is a really exciting time for us, and it reflects the hard work put in by our staff over the last 12 months.
“We’re delighted for our lovely member Sam who has had her hard work recognised also.
“We’ve got everything crossed for the award ceremony now.”

Meanwhile the ladies at Gymophobics Redditch have been collecting Christmas presents to be distributed to local children this Christmas.
The Gym is working with Redditch charity Home Start which supports families struggling to cope and rely on funding from different sources.
Sue Aravanis, Gym manager, said “We’ve been overwhelmed with our members generosity and kindness, it really does show yet again that we are so much more than a gym, we’re a community.”
