Pepe’s Piri Piri UK – A newly formed company is confident its proposal to create another fast food outlet on Perth’s Crieff Road will “revitalise” the area.
Papa’s Perth Ltd, which was only incorporated by joint directors Aasim Aater Amin and Abdullah Ali last November, has applied for permission to convert the formers Farmfoods store near the road’s junction with Tulloch Road into a branch of Pepe’s Piri Piri.
They believe they will have to employ at least 16 people to run the restaurant once it is established – so long as Perth and Kinross Council passes their planning application.
A supporting statement filed along with the application says: “The applicants, Papas Perth Ltd, propose to open a Perth restaurant branch of the Pepe’s Piri Piri chicken restaurant franchise, which has been growing successfully throughout the UK over recent years.
“The property is surrounded by several other restaurants and fast food establishments on the Crieff Road, including two curry houses immediately next door, so there is a precedent for class three (food and drink) in the locality. The proposed change of use and alterations represent a great opportunity to revitalise a vacant and rather tired looking commercial property on a prominent corner plot.
“Furthermore, the applicant anticipates employing between 16 and 20 full time and part time staff once the restaurant is up and running.
“In conclusion, the proposed new Pepe’s Piri Piri restaurant will be a positive redevelopment of an unoccupied property that will establish a vibrant new business with opportunities for local employment.”
