National home care provider Right at Home has announced the launch of four new franchise offices across the country.
The new branches will open in North Somerset, West Yorkshire, Hertfordshire and Oxford.
Their business owners started their training in July, and are in the process of recruiting the right support staff so that they can provide quality home care to their local communities.
Right at Home’s franchise recruitment manager Kate Dilworth said: “We had a fantastic RightStart training session in July, and we’re really looking forward to supporting our new franchisees to establish their businesses.
“After their detailed evaluation process, they all have clear expectations of both the challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead of them, and in training it was clear they will be very proactive in using our proven systems within their own businesses.”
The North Somerset branch will be run by South African-born Grant Attwood who developed a love for his local community after moving to the UK 12 years ago.
“Throughout my career I’ve been involved in developing and manufacturing throw away products,” Attwood explained. “But having been involved in my family’s business, I really wanted to do something for myself, which would be more substantial to people locally.”
Paresh Mistry will run the West Yorkshire branch, which will serve people living in Ilkley, Keighley and Skipton. A chartered accountant by profession, Mistry reached a point where he no longer felt passionate about spreadsheets.
“I do a lot of community work with the youth, so was keen to develop my passion of working in the community. The idea of helping local people deal with social issues like loneliness and isolation, especially the elderly, particularly appealed to me,” Mistry said.
Kurt Gunthardt is the new owner of Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin. He previously worked for Mercedes Benz, working his way up to regional head of Business for the London area, before taking voluntary redundancy.
“I had the ambition to run my own business. I looked at franchising because I wanted to maximise my success rate whilst minimising the risk. Right at Home offers both training and support, both from the outset, and throughout the journey. With moving into an industry I didn’t know, Right at Home have provided me with exactly what I needed.

Gunthardt’s mother-in-law is in her 80s and after noticing that she had become more introverted and frail, he and his wife found a local home care provider that gave her a new lease of life.
“My wife joined me at the Discovery Day, as I wanted to involve my family from the outset, and we have both seen first-hand the benefit of good homecare,” he said.
The new Right at Home Oxford branch will be run by Lenny Balendra, a former freelance contractor with a background in IT and finance, and his wife. Their main driver for opening a care business was their parents, who both want to stay at home where they are surrounded by their family.
“We believe in the concept of providing care at home, and want to be able to offer this to people in our community. Right at Home allows us the best possible start to achieve this.”
