The Body Shop reveals 1.7% sales rise to £797.5m in its 2018 financial year

Full-year EBITDA climbs by 62%

 UK like-for-like sales increased 2.3%

The Body Shop has revealed a sales uptick amid a 62 per cent climb in full-year operating profit.

The beauty retailer has posted a 1.7 per cent sales rise to £797.5 million for its 2018 financial year, driven by a 1.8 per cent increase in like-for-likes across non-franchise stores.

The Body Shop’s like-for-like sales increased 2.3 per cent in the UK during the period and were up by 2.5 per cent in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, net revenue went up by 36 per cent to £2.7 billion.

The retailer’s underlying operating income increased 17.3 per cent to £260 million in the period.

“With double-digit growth in revenue, adjusted EBITDA and net income and strong free-cashflow generation, Natura’s performance in the fourth quarter caps its first full year of existence with a very strong note,” said Roberto Marques, executive chairman of parent company Natura & Co.
