A popular mobile taverna restaurant has announced it plans to open its first permanent restaurant. And the new venue will be in East Staffordshire.

The Travelling Taverna has announced it has secured its first unit from where it will run a franchise operation. This means a permanent restaurant is set to be opening in Uttoxeter.

The company has said that it will be providing the same food, with dine-in and takeaway options as it does through its mobile operation. There will also be Greek desserts and drinks on offer. The travelling business has become such a success it has been franchised nationally, with the potential Uttoxeter venue being the first to be dine-in.

The travelling restaurant was started in 2020 during the covid lockdown by Konstantinos ‘Connie’ Eleftheriou of the Bubble Inn gastro pubs group, which includes one in Tutbury, East Staffordshire. Mr Eleftheriou had been in the food industry for 12 years before setting up the franchise, which has run its pop-up taverna at pubs in Burton and Swadlincote.
