A Turkish bakery chain, Tegtat, has revealed the opening date of its new Leicester branch – which will be the chain’s first in the UK.
Tegtat claims it is one of the fastest growing companies in Turkey, with nearly 100 bakery-cafés across the country and surrounding nations.
Now, the chain is set to open its first UK store in the former Schoolwear Centre on the corner of Charles Street and Humberstone Gate.
It was originally hoped that the bakery and café would open in summer 2019, but that was delayed due to building work taking longer than expected.
However, an official opening date has now been set.
Tegtat will open its doors for the first time on Friday, February 28.
Customers can look forward to buying freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes. There will also be a café serving traditional Turkish coffee and tea.
It is being launched by franchisee Yaseen Patel, who has worked in the food industry for more than 15 years, and says he has ‘taken the next step’ by bringing the Tegtat franchise to the UK.
You’ll find Tegtat at 32 Charles Street, Leicester.
