A South Wales-based coffee business is hoping to ‘take the commercial coffee industry by storm’ with its latest expansion.

Coffee Blue is a mobile coffee franchise headquartered in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly. Founded in 2018, the company provides opportunities for people to start their own mobile coffee van business.

Now, Coffee Blue has ventured deeper into the commercial coffee industry by launching a coffee machine rental and wholesale coffee service.

The new expansion will provide machine rental and wholesale coffee with flexible rental packages appropriate for today’s financially uncertain climate.

Company Director, Martin Jones, said: “Coffee Blue is growing rapidly, and we determined to try and take the UK commercial coffee industry by storm through this new expansion.

“The UK coffee market is large and ever-growing. By offering this flexible new service to local businesses, we hope to provide them with flexible new solutions to expand their product range and, therefore, prosper throughout these financially uncertain times.

“Coffee Blue, as a franchisor, was built to help others achieve business success. Now our goal is to help even more business owners.”

Coffee Blue is the UK’s leading mobile coffee franchise. The service allows prospects to set up their own business serving barista coffee and quality food throughout exclusive territories from a mobile coffee van.

Launched officially in 2018, the franchise now has 14 vans on the road throughout the UK with more in the pipeline.

Co-Directors Gareth Edwards and Colin Smith founded the company with the aim of breaking down the barriers to franchising. On the new expansion, they said:

Meet the Dartford Coffee Blue barista delivering to workers on the Covid-19 frontline

March 31, 2020

Coffee Blue Franchise UK – Coffee chains may now be shut but one barista is still busy refuelling the nation’s army of key workers.

Christine Kelly, 55, is delivering food and drinks to frontline staff operating from the Acorn and White Oak business parks in Dartford and Swanley.

Working as part of the mobile franchise Coffee Blue she distributes everything from baked goods to cappuccinos.

Following the Prime Minister’s lockdown announcement on Monday she anticipated business would soon grind to a halt completely.

Instead she says she has been inundated with calls from those companies still operating with key workers to see if she is able to visit.

She said: “I got a call to see whether I was still coming around. I didn’t intend to go in until they said they were still working.

“There is a whole army behind people. I was surprised to see how many people were there.”

The majority are utility workers needed to keep gas, electricity and water operations running.

But she says others support the work of doctors and nurses operating on the frontline, providing clinical support and other services.

The franchise had been carrying out “doorstop drops” for people in self-isolation but will now primarily be focusing on food delivery services to NHS staff and other key workers.

Christine says she will continue to work while a revenue source is available or until asked not to.

“I have to have a reason,” she adds, “I don’t want to be stopped by the police.”

The business said extra precautions were now being taken to minimise contact and maximise the health and safety of staff and customers.

Franchise Manager, Martin Jones, said: “We understand the great strain our NHS workers are under. They are the ones on the front line fighting this disease.

“With long shifts and little opportunity to leave the workplace, nurses, doctors and GPs will find little time in their days to eat meals and take care of themselves.

“Whether it’s hospitals, local GP clinics or anyone under the NHS umbrella, we’d like to extend this invitation to those who need it.”

Coffee Blue Launches First Mobile Cafe Franchise in The Welsh Capital

August 11, 2019

Coffee Blue has launched its first mobile cafe franchise in Cardiff, Wales.

Franchisee, Jeremy Griffiths, will start delivering delicious fresh coffees – along with a wide range of hot and cold snacks – throughout northern areas of Cardiff last month out of one of Coffee Blue’s industry-leading mobile coffee vans.

After working outside of Cardiff for the last 12 years, Jeremy says he is looking forward to working for himself and spending more time with his loved ones.

“I wanted to settle down back in Cardiff to spend more time with my family.

“Previously, I had been working 60-70 hours a week, leaving the house at 6am and not getting home until 6/7pm.

“But with Coffee Blue, I am able to set my own terms and have a lot more freedom.”

Jeremy also says he hopes his customers will feel encouraged to support local traders.

He continued:

“The northern side of Cardiff – Lisvane, Llanishen, Thornhill – there’s a community that will support independent Welsh businesses.

“Most of the products I’m going to be selling will be Welsh, and the coffee itself is great. The message I would send to my future customers is: help support local businesses.”

Coffee Blue was founded in 2017 by parent company Vantastec ltd, a specialist automobile conversion firm based in Ystrad Mynach.

Coffee Blue Launches Mobile Cafe Franchise in Neath

April 7, 2019

Coffee Blue is delighted to announce the launch of our new franchise in Neath, South Wales.

Franchisee, Emma Shepherd, will be delivering delicious fresh coffees – along with a wide range of hot and cold snacks – throughout the local area from the back of one of Coffee Blue’s state-of-the-art converted vehicles.

Emma is thrilled to be joining the team, and can not wait to get started.

“I’ve always wanted to go into hospitality. I’ve just moved back to Neath from London after leaving the retail industry. I love coffee, so it was a natural move.

“When I came across Coffee Blue and met everyone, I made up my mind straight away.

“I feel very confident going out now that I know what I need to do and what I’m going to deliver to my customers.”

Having just completed her training while living in London, Emma is raring to go. She explained that despite living in another hundreds of miles away, the guys at Coffee Blue were extremely accommodating.

She continued:

“The guys have been fantastic. Most people who were doing the training were readily available, whereas I was doing mine alongside working my notice in my old job in London.

“As you can imagine, there was a lot of travelling back and forth, but Coffee Blue were very flexible.

“The support here is fantastic. Even though it’s a big leap becoming your own boss, it doesn’t seem as big because of the support around you.”

Coffee Blue was founded in 2017 as an offspring from Vantastec ltd, a specialist automobile conversion company based in Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly.
