Revive Luton under new ownership

UK smart repair network Revive has completed its largest resale to date, with its Luton franchise changing hands for a record sum.

Adam Smith purchased the franchise in 2009, growing it from just one man and a van to a business running a fleet of 11 vans and employing 13 people.

The new owner is quantity surveyor Viresh Dattani. Following Revive’s vetting process, he has completed his training at the Academy in Rugby and will take over the helm at Revive Luton immediately, working alongside Smith during the handover period.

Revive managing director Mark Llewellyn went to Luton to congratulate Adam and Viresh after the sale had been completed.

Commenting on the sale, Revive franchise director Cathryn Hayes said: “We are delighted to welcome Viresh to the Revive family following our biggest re-sale to date.

“He has bought a thriving business which has already delivered a profitable exit strategy for Adam and we look forward to helping Viresh take this exciting company to the next level.”

Dattani added: “I am delighted to join the Revive team and excited about the opportunity to build the business further.

“I’ve got to know Adam well during the negotiations, he’s built a great team at Revive Luton and I’m looking forward to getting to know the staff and customers over the coming months.”

Smith continued: “I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved at Revive Luton, after I started the franchise working from a single van.

Revive carries out work for car dealerships, fleet and lease companies, insurance companies and the general public.

Revive promotes Kelly Blackmore-Lee as business development director

Revive has promoted Kelly Blackmore-Lee from head of franchise operations south to business development director, alongside other senior appointments.

She joins managing director Mark Llewellyn, operations director Terry Mullen and franchise director Cathryn Hayes on the Revive board.

Previously head of compliance at the British Franchise Association (bfa), Blackmore-Lee was recruited by Revive last year to take up the newly created post of head of franchise operations south.

Llewellyn said: “Kelly has done a great job heading up the franchise network support division and we feel the time is right for her to carry out this function at board level.”

Mullen said: “Originally it was just Mark and I on the board but as our business grew we recognised the need to invest in more top-level people.

“We invited Cathryn Hayes, one of the most respected and influential figures in the franchise industry to join us as franchise director in 2016 and it makes sense to bolster our board even further now with the addition of Kelly.

“I and my fellow directors extend a warm welcome to her.”

Blackmore-Lee said: “I’m delighted to be asked to join the board of Revive to continue the strong focus on franchisee support that we pride ourselves on at Revive and I’m looking forward to working even more closely with my fellow directors.”

Two other senior appointments have also been made to further strengthen Revive’s top class franchisee support. Steve Bramley has joined the business development team to mentor the franchisees in the North.

He has over 20 years’ experience in franchising gained from working with three well known UK brands. He has also supported the work of the BFA promoting ethical franchising as a board director and Midlands forum chairperson.

Lisa Fenton has been appointed learning and development manager and is responsible for developing and overseeing Revive’s training programmes and managing the training team.

Before joining Revive she ran her own training consultancy and was head of training for National Express.

Revive wins at BFA HSBC Franchise Awards 2018

Revive Auto Innovations UK won HSBC Franchise Awards 2018 organised by the British Franchise Association (BFA).

The recognises franchisors who have provided a framework that includes continual training, coaching and mentoring, encouraging optimum performance and excellent engagement with franchisees.

The judges were particularly impressed by Revive’s accelerated business plan programme, which is available to high achieving group members that offer a supportive mentoring to plan for further growth.

Milestone results reported at Revive! conference

Revive! the smart vehicle repair franchise reported at its annual conference that it had a milestone year with a 45 per cent rise in national accounts and achieving an annual turnover of over £10m.

Mark Llewellyn, managing director of Revive! said that almost 70 per cent of franchisees had record months and over 50 per cent of the network achieved their highest annual sales. The East Anglian team was highlighted for hitting its £1m target several months earlier than expected.

At the conference held at St. George’s Park in Staffordshire, the home of England’s 28 national football teams, Llewellyn said: “Way back in 2004 we set the target of £10m which seemed to be a huge figure and a very long way off. But in just 14 short years we have smashed through that barrier and together we can reach our new goal of £20m by adopting a mindset of growth.”

£1m investment
“We have invested over £1m in people, infrastructure and IT to support the network and develop an innovative training and mentoring programme to help you grow your businesses, whether that be from one van to two or nine vans to 10. Whatever stage your business is at if we all work as one big team to achieve growth, the combined effect will be amazing.”

Terry Mullen, operations director and Cathryn Hayes, franchise director gave a presentation to attendees showing the company’s performance during 2017. The company reported growth from national accounts work and fleet management companies, which saw repairs nearly, double, with over 2,500 repairs being processed in October alone.

Mike Monaghan, the founder of the Motor Vehicle Repair Association was the keynote speaker who shared his motivational success story and Andrew Jordan, the British Touring Car Championship driver sponsored by Revive! gave a preview of his team’s plans for the 2018/19 season.

The event also included an awards ceremony where its franchisee for Chester, Mike Haselden was a double award winner, taking the High Performer award for the Northern region, achieving 40 per cent growth during 2017 and the title of Franchisee of the Year.

Revive! currently has 60 franchisees, 19 company managed technicians and 161 vans on the road offering its mobile smart repair service to car dealerships, fleet and lease companies, insurance companies as well as the general public.
